Outlined below are suggestions for daily itineraries to allow you to get the most out of Sydney's lifestyle and attractions and take advantage of the Wood Duck Inn's perfect location.

Spend your first day orientating yourself around the inner city. Grab a map from Reception and discover our beautiful city by foot. A great walk from the hostel is through to the park opposite the hostel, down through the domain & past the Art Gallery to the Royal Botanical Gardens. There is a lookout with a great view of the Opera House & Bridge. You can then walk along the water to Circular Quay. MUST SEE Darling Harbour, The Opera House, Harbour Bridge & Rocks area. Get out on Sydney Harbour, either by cruise or ferry and you will soon see why it's famous for its beauty. Try to see it at night as well as during the day.

Check out the city beaches. Catch a bus to Bondi Beach from the street along side of the hostel. Do a coastal walk from Bondi to Coogee or Bondi to Bronte then back to Bondi. Along the way you'll pass Tamarama, Clovelly and Bronte beaches. All of these beaches are fantastic, so go for a swim at any one of them or all of them! Grab a beer in one of the great pubs in Coogee then catch the bus home.

Visit the beautiful Blue Mountains on a Day Tour. See Reception for the best deals.

Catch the ferry to Taronga Zoo. The animals here probably have the best view of the city! Visit the Aquarium in Darling Harbour, or catch a ferry to Watsons Bay. It's next to South Head where the entrance to the Harbour is. You can take a mini harbour cruise through Sydney's 'Exclusive' bays on the way. There are great cliff walks, quiet beaches and lookouts over the harbour and out to the sea. There is also a great pub on the water to have a drink and enjoy the sunset over the city.

Jump on the bus to the Northern beaches - Collaroy, Palm Beach, Whale Beach etc. Palm Beach is actually where they filmed the popular Aussie soap Home & Away.
Or another great beach is Manly, a beautiful surf beach. You could actually catch the ferry from Circular Quay to Manly, another great way to see the Harbour. Stroll along the corso to pick up
some fish and chips or visit some pubs. Saturdays and Sundays are the best time to visit for you shop-aholics because of the markets. There is some nice local artwork and souvenirs to be bought for all the relo's back home.
